Sponsor of The Prison Library Project & The Claremont Farmers and Artisans Market

The Claremont Forum is a small non-profit serving the city of Claremont and its neighbors. The mission of The Claremont Forum is to promote individual and social well-being through education, the arts, and wellness programs. Founded in 1995, The Claremont Forum provides a foundation for the development of ideas, the arts, and community service. Focusing on personal and cultural growth, we have offered opportunities for Southern California residents through over 400 events, including lectures, workshops, art exhibits and performances. We sponsor the local Claremont farmers and artisans market, and have created a vibrant community service program for local volunteers through the Prison Library Project.

For decades, the Prison Library Project (from which the Claremont Forum grew) has served prisoners seeking personal and spiritual growth by providing books and tapes at no cost to the prisoner, prison chaplain, or prison psychologist. It continues to serve as our primary vehicle for community service by providing books and educational materials to prisoners nationwide. An average of 100 volunteers participate monthly in this endeavor, coming from many age groups and diverse backgrounds including local students, retired persons, people in recovery programs, church and other spiritual groups.
